OTTO’s opportunity:

Our Die Setter Apprentice will learn how to run the presses in the press room. The Apprenticeship Program consists of a three-year classroom (during the evening) and hands-on work (during the day) experience.

Specifically, the Die Setter Apprentice will:

  • Keep clean and safe work environment
  • Basic understanding of checking piece parts to specifications
  • Basic understanding of SPC
  • Basic knowledge of daily maintenance of machines
  • Basic understanding of operation of presses
  • Basic understanding of set-up of presses
  • Basic knowledge of calibration system
  • Assist with weight count of stamped parts
  • Assist with ultrasonic treatment of stamped parts
  • Assist with tumbling of stamped parts
  • Assist with heat treatment of stamped parts
  • Learn how to use various inspection gauges
  • Learn blueprint reading
  • Assist with other related duties as required or assigned

What you’ll need to bring to the table:

  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to lift and move 90 lbs. with assistance as necessary
  • Ability to push 200lbs. on wheeled carts with assistance as necessary
  • Must be available for mandatory overtime or non-standard or extended work schedule
